Fellini’s Pizza
Fellini’s Pizza on Peachtree Road in Buckhead sits across the street from the rambling greenery of the Cathedral at St. Philip church and next door to La Fonda Cantina. Fellini’s Pizza has another Buckhead location on Roswell Road, as well as five others in the greater Atlanta area. This review applies specifically to their Peachtree Road restaurant.

If the vast deck packed with white tables and chairs does not alert Buckhead that they have arrived at Fellini’s Pizza, then the customary red neon sign reading the name of this pizza joint, the sizeable flowing fountain out front or the streamers of tiny light bulbs that traipse above the deck seating area of the pizza restaurant should.

Buckhead enters Fellini’s Pizza, walks up to the counter and places an order, then sits at any number of tables inside or outside to wait for their delicious pizzas, by the pie or the slice, and salads to be prepared. Fellini’s Pizza can accommodate about fifty Buckhead diners inside. Outside, another hundred or so Buckhead customers may sit on the open deck outside the restaurant which is completely enclosed and space-heated during colder, rainier winter months and where smoke is permitted except for pipes, cloves and cigars.

The building that houses this Fellini’s Pizza displays a wide façade of glass windows and doors and light green painted brick. Inside, wire storage racks hold non-perishable dry food goods and other restaurant supplies. Over head, the air ventilation system consists of spokes of chrome-painted air shafts, uncovered by ceiling tiles or disguised in dark color paint. These utilitarian, cost-efficient, space-conserving tactics lend to this pizza restaurant a no-frills feel.

Pizza is such a ubiquitous kind of food item, and Fellini’s Pizza does not try to make it more appealing with a cutting-edge or stylish use of the décor or the environment of its pizzeria. Rather this pizza restaurant focuses on the pizza, and Buckhead confirms by the endless crowd on the deck and inside the restaurant that this pizza joint knows what the heck it is doing.

Fellini’s Pizza is a favorite for Buckhead professionals who need a quick, hot delicious lunch or for families taking the kids out to dinner in Buckhead. The ingredients that Fellini’s Pizza uses are always fresh, and everything is made-to-order. Adults whet their whistles on a sufficient selection of beer and wine, and the prices are affordable even in the elevated range of Buckhead restaurants.
